Lola/Caterham SP300.R

This vehicle has been sold. View our available inventory here.

The Lola/Caterham SP300.r was the last car designed and engineered by Lola prior to their ceasing operation.  The goal was to produce an LMP like track day car that was extremely reliable and very cost effective to operate while offering the performance and feel of a high downforce LMP2 car.   The car is built around a honeycombed aluminum driver capsule, which provides both extreme torsional rigidity and substantial driver protection from impact intrusion. The same tub construction technique is used in the Lola B2K/40 LMP2 car.  The rear suspension is derived from the latest Lola F3 car with the front being a custom design.  A race proven Hewland 6 speed sequential shift transmission is actuated by a Shiftec paddle shift system with no-lift upshift and auto blip downshift.  The clutch is only used for starting and stopping.   The engine is based on a 2.0 litre Ford Duratec motor equipped with Cosworth rods, pistons and valve train.  The engine is supercharged and intercooled which enables excellent low speed torque and 300HP at a relatively low 7200 rpm.  The engine is designed to run 80 hours before rebuild.  The AIM dash is integrated into the steering wheel and communicates to the AIM logger and engine ECU.  Four piston calipers at all four corners.  The combination of front splitter, underbody diffuser and rear wing produces   substantial downforce.  The car has runs on Avon slicks.

The car was purchased in 2012.  .  The car was campaigned actively from 2012 thru 2014 with HSR in Group 6 competed against cars such as the Audi R8, Pescarolla/Judd, Riley & Scott MKIIIB, C and Lola B2K/40 all of which are substantially more powerful.  In 2014 the car won the HSR Endurance Championship sponsored by BRM watches.  The car has since been reclassified into HSR Group 7, which will allow the car to run against other 2Litre sports racers.

This car is a most highly developed SP300R.  Many modifications have been professionally engineered into the car to decrease understeer, improve turn-in, and increase performance and reliability.  The car has proven to be extremely reliable.  Operating costs are substantially below a Porsche GT3 cup or Radical.

The car has a new front splitter, new clutch, new axels and CV joints. Comes with 3 sets of wheels, one with mounted rains.  Full AIM data acquisition system, air jacks and misc. spares are included.  Fully prepared and race ready for the next event.
